The Hidden Library
A client approached us with a dream: transform their living room into a sanctuary for books — and secrets. We designed and built a custom wall-to-wall bookshelf with a concealed door leading into a private study. The seamless trim work, matched grain patterns, and the precision alignment of the door mechanism demanded careful planning and expert-level carpentry. This project combined our love for functional beauty with a bit of old-school intrigue
Specialty Work: Hidden door integration, custom trim, fine carpentry, finish detail. -
Modern Rustic Kitchen Revival
What started as a cramped, dated kitchen became a bright, open cooking and gathering space with natural wood accents and hidden under-cabinet lighting. We relocated outlets, reran electrical for new appliances, and handcrafted a walnut range hood to match the custom open shelving.
Specialty Work: Electrical rewiring, built-in cabinetry, woodwork matching, finish carpentry. -
The Wall that Wasn't
In a small bedroom that lacked closet space, we designed a bookcase “feature wall” that hides a full-depth wardrobe behind a seamless center panel. The wall appears solid — until the magnetic catch releases and the center swings open. Everything had to be laser-precise to maintain the illusion.
Specialty Work: Hidden doors, flush-mount carpentry, magnetic release mechanisms. -
colonial staircase restoration
This 1980s colonial had great bones, but the original staircase had seen better days. We tore it down to the stringers, reinforced the framing, and installed solid oak treads with custom milled railings. The real trick? Matching the trim and stain to blend with the rest of the house.
Specialty Work: Stair fabrication, trim matching, wood finishing, structural carpentry. -
the basement speakeasy
Behind what appears to be a basic utility closet lies a hidden wet bar and lounge area. We created a split-wall design: drywall above, reclaimed wood below, with a live-edge maple bar top we milled in-house. Lighting and wiring had to be routed behind finished surfaces without damage.
Specialty Work: Custom bar build, electrical concealment, creative space transformation.
